MAY INTAKE 2026
MAY INTAKE 2026
Requirements and Qualifications
The global entertainment industry is actively seeking authentic African narratives, and the demand for technically proficient storytellers has never been higher. Ahead of the highly anticipated May 2026 intake, Nayolites Film Academy invites passionate youth and emerging creators to fast-track their careers through the intensive, six-month Certificate in Theatre and Film Arts. Housed at the newly expanded production headquarters in Bamuda Place, Mwembe, within the Storm Apartment complex, this hands-on program deliberately bypasses years of extensive theory to deliver immediate, practical training. Students gain direct access to industry-standard 4K camera workflows and professional screenwriting software like Celtx from day one, ensuring every project meets rigorous international broadcast standards.
The curriculum uniquely bridges the visceral energy of live theatrical performance with the precise execution of modern cinema. This dual-discipline approach empowers students to master stage presence while seamlessly integrating traditional song, dance, and authentic cultural heritage into compelling, broadcast-ready visual media. Graduates do not simply walk away with a certificate; they step into the workforce armed with a completed, festival-ready short film and a live cultural showcase to serve as a powerful professional foundation. The East African media landscape is evolving rapidly, making this the definitive moment to step behind the camera, step onto the stage, and own the narrative. Space is strictly limited to guarantee maximum hands-on equipment time, making it essential for prospective creators to secure a position in the May cohort today.
