Rules and Regulations
Nayolites Computer and Media College is committed to maintaining a disciplined, safe, and professional learning environment that reflects industry standards. The following rules and regulations apply to all enrolled students across all diploma and certificate programs.
1. General Code of Conduct
Punctuality & Attendance: Students must attend all scheduled theory lectures, lab sessions, and practical studio shoots on time. A minimum of 80% class attendance is required to qualify for final examinations and certification.
Professional Demeanor: Respect for facilitators, administrative staff, and fellow students is mandatory. Intimidation, harassment, or disruptive behavior will lead to immediate disciplinary action.
Substance Policy: Possessing, consuming, or being under the influence of alcohol, drugs, or illegal substances on campus premises or during off-campus official film shoots is strictly prohibited.
Dress Code: Students are expected to dress decently and professionally. Specific production dress codes (e.g., set-safe footwear during studio or location shoots) must be strictly adhered to.
2. Fee Payment & Financial Regulations
Approved Payment Channel: ALL fee payments MUST be made exclusively through M-Pesa Till Number: 5417085 (NAYOLITES E. PRODUCTION). Cash payments at the registration office are strictly prohibited.
Official Receipts: An official college receipt will be issued to the student upon reporting and verification of payment.
Refund Policy: All fees paid are non-refundable once classes commence.
Exam & Certificate Clearance: Students with outstanding fee balances will not be permitted to sit for practical/theory final examinations or receive completion certificates.
3. Computer Lab, Editing Suites & Studio Equipment Policy
Equipment Care: Cameras, lighting rigs, sound gear, computer hardware, and studio setups must be handled with extreme care. Students are financially liable for damage caused by negligence or misuse.
No Food or Drinks: Food, water, and other liquids are strictly banned inside computer labs, editing suites, and virtual studio sets at all times.
Equipment Authorization: Production equipment must not be removed from the campus premises without signed clearance from the Department Head or Director.
Software & Data Safety: Installing unauthorized software, altering system configurations, or deleting other students' work is a grave offense. Students must back up their personal project files on external storage drives.
4. Academic Integrity & Set Etiquette
Original Work: Plagiarism in screenplays, code, graphic designs, or media productions is strictly prohibited. All submitted assessments must be original student output.
Industry Set Etiquette: During practical film productions, studio broadcasts, or external attachments, students represent the Nayolites brand and must observe professional set hierarchy, punctuality, and safety instructions.
5. Disciplinary Actions
Violations of institutional regulations will be handled through a progressive disciplinary process:
First Offense: Official verbal warning and record entry.
Second Offense: Formal written warning letter to the student/parent/guardian.
Severe / Repeated Offenses: Temporary suspension or permanent expulsion without fee refund, depending on the gravity of the breach (e.g., theft, equipment destruction, violence).
