Department of Audio Engineering & Music Production

This programme explores the science and creative art of sound design, acoustic engineering, and modern music production across diverse cultural and commercial genres. At Nayolites Computer and Media College, learners are equipped with practical and technical skills to produce high-quality audio for music, film, television, advertising, podcasts, live events, and digital media. The Certificate in Audio Engineering provides training in multitrack recording, microphone techniques, vocal recording and tuning, audio editing, mixing, effects processing, and professional mastering. Students learn how to transform raw recordings into clean, balanced, and commercially suitable audio productions. The programme also covers Sonic Branding and Scoring, enabling learners to understand how sound and music can establish identity, emotion, atmosphere, and memorable experiences. Students explore the composition and production of cinematic orchestral arrangements, 90s boom-bap beats, Bongo Flava, Afro-Pop, and traditional African musical forms, including indigenous drum patterns and chants. Live Sound and Set Audio focuses on the practical requirements of professional film, television, and event production. Students learn how to operate boom microphones, wireless lavalier microphones, field recorders, mixers, and other sound equipment while observing proper on-set audio recording protocols. The training prepares learners to capture clear, professional-quality dialogue and environmental sound in challenging production environments.
