How to choose a college in Nairobi CBD
Start with the qualification and course content
Ask for the exact course title, qualification level, syllabus and assessment method. A short course, an institution-issued certificate, a professional examination course and a diploma can serve different purposes. Check that the programme matches the job, further study or skill you are working towards.
Check recognition for the institution and programme
For TVET study, check the institution and relevant programme information in the TVETA register. For professional qualifications, check the relevant examining body’s training-provider and entry requirements. Ask admissions to explain the awarding body and assessment route for the particular course you intend to take.
Compare the complete cost
Request a current written fee structure. Ask which charges cover tuition, registration, external examinations, assessment, equipment, practical materials, attachment and graduation. Compare the full programme cost and payment schedule, rather than only the first instalment.
Match the timetable and campus to your routine
Confirm the actual days and hours of attendance. If a course is described as online or blended, ask whether examinations, laboratory work or practical sessions require a campus visit. Check the building, floor and campus before travelling, particularly where an institution operates in more than one town.
